Development Initiatives for Social Investments (DISA) is a non-government micro-finance institution (MFI) with socio-economic commitment towards poverty alleviation process of Bangladesh. It was formed in 1993 by a group of social workers under the leadership of its founder Chief Executive Md. Shahid Ullah with the programs of economic and social development of Bangladesh through Dedicated Development Drive.
DISA initiated its 1st micro credit operation in Comilla district at Chandina Upazila especially at Borkoit village. Lately its operation spread out not only in Comilla but also in other 7(seven) districts. Under these districts DISA operating micro credit activities at 2325 village from 189 Union of 39 Upazilas. DISA is a non-governmental organization whose main motto orients to the development of human resources and reduction of poverty.
Today, DISA is having 23 years of experience of a long glorious journey; the journey for economic development & poverty alleviation.
DISA envisages on establishing a society in Bangladesh which is economically productive & equitable, socially just, environmentally sound and operationally viable.
Promote participatory, self-reliant and sustainable development of the poor/less fortunate group of the community and help them to achieve their potential through social and economic empowerment.
